Initiatives 2023

Appapada Fire Response:

The MahaPECOnet Secretariat actively took initiative in the coordination and relief response for the Appapada fire affected people. The Secretariat conducted daily meetings and visited the area multiple times to understand the situation and needs of the victims. Meetings were also conducted with the BMC officials to understand the ground situations and other details. The Secretariat collaborated with members and other partners to plan relief activities, discuss Monsoon preparedness, and address special cases of pregnant women. To further support the affected families, a fundraiser was launched in collaboration with other organizations and individuals. Generous contributions were made towards providing 20 pieces of essential utensils per set for distribution to 100 families in need.
On 10.04.2023, the utensil sets were distributed with the help of the local group “Navjivan” and Parivartansheel Sanstha to the 100 affected families of Amrapali Chawl, Ekta Chawl, Samta Chawl and Sneha Chawl. The distribution helped a total of 394 beneficiaries and was a significant step towards supporting the victims in their recovery and rehabilitation process.
