Challenge

The migrant crisis during COVID-19 created urgent needs for food, water, medical essentials, hygiene items, travel assistance and recovery support.

Intervention

The programme moved from emergency relief trucks to a Crisis Management Centre and later recovery support, coordinating assistance across phases.

RIF role

Nodal partner and Secretariat under the Maha C19 PECOnet coalition.

Impact notes

  • The project register states Phase 1 supported over 1,30,000 migrants through relief trucks.
